Crooks & Liars has it, but they don't know it yet because it is kinda hard to pick up - it took a coupla passes for me to catch it.
Here's the link.
Watch the video. Listen carefully when it gets to about 3 minutes.
Maddow: This is a global war on terror. This is a war for you or for us to win. You need patience...
He sounds like Ken Mehlman when he's saying that only less gay. I mean this is ridiculous.
Tucker Carlson: (obviously taken aback and shocked)ooph... well, I'm gonna blow by that comment. uh... but I will say... whoo... you just blew my mind by saying that
that has to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I doubt we'll be seeing Rachell on many more news programs though...
Interestingly, MSNBC censored it. Check out the transcript here. They not only censored the gay reference, they removed Tuckers shocked response so as to not interrupt plausible continuity.
I dunno, but journalism isn't what it used to be. Now a major news organization purposely falsifies the record. Unreal.
Perhaps this is my fault for not emphasizing enough what the issue is here.
The issue isn't that Maddow dropped the ball with her talking points. I know from my talk radio diaries that no matter what you say, somebody in the blogosphere could have made a "better" point...
The issue isn't that Mehlman is gay. Fucking yawn.
Nor is the issue Carlson's sexuality. Please... whatever.
The fucking issue is censorship and the media protecting republicans!! Leave aside your internecine warfare and snickers in your sleeves abut hypocritical gay republicans. At a time when the Washington Post goes to the mat in defense of the right wing Abramoff narrative... at a time when the press runs with the 60 Minutes "forgeries" without ever investigating their authenticity... at a time when the NYT spikes a story about some kind of transceiver on the president's back during the debates - and also spikes the NSA spying story immediately before the elections... and meanwhile, every uncomfortable truth that Howard Dean speaks gets cast as the rantings of a lunatic....
well, this is the next step in the Goebbles operation the traditional media has become. I usually reserve the Goebbles epithat for right wing radio hacks, but when a major news organization deletes history in an effort to protect the corporatists in power (both at their GE company and in political circles), well, we've descended another level into right wing hell.
That's the motherfucking story amigos.
