True capitalist countries do not force dogma through legislation. They let people vote for their values with free-market choices. In True free market economies, people don't inherit their wealth or obtain it through cronyism. People do hard-work for it.
Although they try to pretend otherwise, Republicans have a recent history of being anti-capitalists and they should rapidly be assigned this label. Read on for a short meditation on Republican shoddy values.
Capitalism is a system where things, almost anything, are valued through the exchange of money within a free market setting. This valuation then permits individual, groups or business to do benefit/cost analysis when faced with choices. It is an attempt to follow the principles of economics which have the natural benefit of rewarding hard work, punishing laziness, promoting liberty and freedom while increasing productivity.
In the last few years, republicans have done countless acts to undermine capitalistic freedom. For example, by blatantly removing the estate tax, they made it easier for individuals to inherit large sums of money. With their tax breaks for the rich, they made it easy to acquire money through cronyism. This resulted in a monopoly of opportunities that are instead rightly deserved by hard working men and women as prescribed by capitalism.
But most importantly, Republicans are known to try to force dogma through legislation. Their views on abortion, prayers in public schools, the scientific method, gay marriage are all on their agenda to be coerced on people instead of allowing the market to determine what the most valued solutions are.
Americans have less and less freedoms, especially when it comes to choosing their core values. In a true free market, dogma isn't legislated, religious or otherwise. People are free to value their beliefs with money by spending wherever their convictions dictate (notwithstanding some obvious moral and practical restrictions on harming others, harm which incidentally can and should be measured economically according to capitalism in the legal system they try to undermine.)
Religious freedoms are fading away. There's a complete disregard for the liberal religious base consisting of noble religions with good liberal values. Their members are losing freedom to practice their beliefs. Some Christian based Religions like the Unitarian Universalists are pro-choice and want to perform homosexual marriage. Many other left leaning religions are continuously losing their freedom, for example Buddhism, the Church of Reality and Yoism.
Consider Environmentalism, which can be a dogma, and as such capitalism prescribes that it shouldn't be broadly forced on people or implemented by the government. However, what democrats and liberals are calling for isn't to implement an environmental dogma but simply to use legislations where there are market failures and a clear positive benefit/cost ratio as measured by real money. Republicans on the other hand try to undermine the obvious and economically profitable environmental solutions, favouring instead the will of corporate lobbyists. They are similar to communists who would not allow people the benefits of a free market because there are a few corrupt corporate nutcases that exploit people trough it. As a result Republicans incur huge economic costs on Americans resulting from environmental damages to land, water and air. These costs can be estimated and sometimes precisely measured in real American dollars following you guessed it: The economic principles of capitalism.
Although Democrats sometimes show some anti-market tendencies, in practice they know the difference between idealistic dogma and choices that can be easily defended by raw data along with benefit/cost analysis. Republicans on the other hand are anti-capitalists in a more fundamental way. They chose issues where analysis of profitability is unlikely, issues that are simply based on ideals and dogma and issues that would and should be always left to the individual freedom in a government that promoted restricted powers and free-market choices.
America is long due to expose the anti-capitalism of Republicans, a trait that undermines core American values and incurs vast costs. This label, they have clearly earned. Their pretending otherwise is transparent lying. Promote lucidity by shedding light upon the deceitful Republicans who have been shamelessly hiding their character for so long. Let the people see the truth in the sight of Republican's un-American values.
