I make a pretty decent living, and even with 4 kids I have alot of disposable income that I was thinking about throwing into some key races this year. I figure I can donate the maximum allowed contributions into some very hotly contested seats. Nothing would make my decade more than seeing a Democratic House and Senate in 2007 and to watch this criminal administration get what it deserves.
Recently I started wondering if this was even worth it. Outside of some cool maneuvers by Harry Reid, the Democratic party has been making me sick, and now they can't even get their shit together to block the most radical wingnut imaginable for the Supreme Court of the United States. Well if the democratic party doesn't have the balls to draw a line in the sand, I will.
Right now I want to make this commitment: If the Democrats successfully filibuster and block this radical nomination, I will donate the maximum amount allowed to the Democrats in the 6 most hotly contested races for Congress in 2006. However, if the Democratic party does not successfully filibuster the Alito nomination, I will NOT donate one dime to any democratic candidate in 2006 and not until I see a party ready to defend the values I believe in.
Is anyone else ready to make a commitment? Our Senators are reading these posts right now. If every member of DKos commited to donate at least $10 to these races, we can collectively show them we are serious with our pocktbooks, as well.
