From The Plain Dealer's Openers:
Changes at headquarters
With his primary opponent out of the way, though not out of earshot, U.S. Senate candidate Sherrod Brown is re-tooling for his November battle against incumbent Republican Mike DeWine.
Among the campaign's recent changes: Dan Lucas, the controversial interim campaign manager, is out. He left the campaign Sunday and moved back to Washington.
Former U.S. Senate candidate Paul Hackett, an attorney and Iraq war veteran who dropped out last month, accused the Brown campaign of spreading rumors about his military service. Brown's campaign has vehemently denied doing so and Hackett has never provided any evidence that the campaign did.
Hackett, however, referred The Plain Dealer to Clermont County Democratic Chairman Dave Lane. Lane, a supporter of Hackett, recounted a conversation last year with Lucas during which Lucas said he knew of things about Hackett that he was sure Hackett wouldn't want exposed during a campaign. Lane said Lucas cited no specifics.
. . . John Ryan, head of Cleveland's AFL-CIO who took a temporary leave from the labor group to oversee the campaign, will likely become the permanent campaign manager in the next few weeks.
I wonder if this will satisfy those in the blogosphere who have called for just this action???
