When I read most of the diaries here, I cant help but think that the neocon opposition really lacks a basic understanding of their enemy. And this is how we have allowed things to deteriorate so badly...
You think they are losing in Iraq? You think they screwed up? Bumbling idiots you say?
Did you believe them when they said we would be greeted as liberators? lol.
Ok so you think you know the neocons fairly well. You don't believe any of their propaganda. You'll even go so far as to say they invaded Iraq to steal their oil? Right? WRONG! It doesn't make any sense that I, a fierce anti-neocon, would say something like that, does it? That's because we clearly don't know who we're dealing with. Like I said before, this is why we lose to them.
We already know that neocons are motivated by profits above all else. There is ample proof of this. They cut social programs to pay for tax cuts for the rich. They even cut veterans benefits. Think about how sick that is! They actually cut the benefits of their little minions that fight in our wonderful imperialist wars of aggression. They will consign our country's future, our security, and yes even our military, to oblivion, in the name of profits for the rich.
I intend to explain exactly how and why the Iraq war was and is a resounding success, for them.
Consider the two possible scenarios:
- We invade Iraq and achieve a clean victory. The people rally behind their foreign
invaders liberators and help rebuild the country into a thriving democracy with a strong economy. The Iraqi people become the envy of the world. They become the most politically informed population, thanks to the fair and balanced Iraqi Fox News! The Iraqis begin to increase oil production dramatically and the price of oil falls back to $25 a barrel on the increased supply.
- We invade Iraq and bomb the piss out of their infrastructure, Shock and Awe style, instantly branding us as lifetime enemies of the Iraqi people. Thousands die from the horrible living conditions. An insurgency attacks randomly, preventing the rebuilding and fueling itself at the same time. Oil production becomes impossible and the price of oil rises to $45 a barrel. There is no hope of increased oil production in the near or even the distant future.
When you consider these two scenarios, you must realize that there is a huge financial incentive to go with scenario #2. Let's say US and European oil companies sell 20 million barrels a day. An increase of $20 a barrel equals an extra $400 million a day, or nearly $150 billion a year! So you can see there is a huge profit motive for turmoil in Iraq.
Even if we chose scenario #1, the profit motive for scenario #2 was so immense that it is likely that insiders from the oil companies would have staged the insurgency, given the potential profits such an insurgency would produce. (We can avoid putting on the tin foil hats because, with shock and awe, an insurgency was a foregone conclusion.)
One simply cannot deny that this is the way the neocon world works. Many wars have been fought for far less profit... but one thing is clear, someone ALWAYS profits from war. We will never get our country back if we do not come to terms with this reality. We are and have always been cattle, in the eyes of the elite. They are not making mistakes. They are not bumbling idiots. Everything is proceeding according to their well laid plans. When this meme finally enters mainstream thought, we will have reached a turning point.
