Briefly, I must say that today (so far) has been a beacon of the travesty the Bush Administration has thrust upon each and every one of us. Frankly, these new revelations that reveal the direct tie between
corporations and institutional government have actually made me feel physically ill. Further, I am hopeful that all of us are absolutely terrified of this revisitation of
Il Duce's quest to merge the corporate with the state. If you are not, at the risk of being rude, let me say that you are a fool.
Seventy Two members of congress are now suing Bush and his corrupt establishment to force an end to this despicable attack on our basic Constitutional rights. It seems that many in congress are actually motivated by something other than preserving their seats, etc. Yet, Ms. Pelosi, who is in the habit of tough talk, is glaringly missing from this filing. Further, the Minority Whip is missing as well.
Top Democrats did not sign the call. Neither House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) nor House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD) have joined the brief.
While I have great respect for Mrs. Pelosi, I must say that her absence in this hugely critical battle cry makes me angrier as each moment passes. What good is being the speaker of the House when the House is made irrelevant, I ask you?
So please; P L E A S E ! stand up now, Mrs. Pelosi. Stand up and take part in actually removing the "gloves" as you had proclaimed a few weeks ago.
Our nation is much more important than where you will sit next January. So please, for once, do what you had said you were determined to do..
PS: Sorry for the tone. I'm just pretty darned angry :)
