Good morning everyone.
There has been a misperception based on my posting yesterday on Daily Kos about things that were said to me when I terminated my contract with Jim Merlino. Jim did not say those things to me. He has been professional to me at all times. Those things were said to me by other people, but as we are all on the same team, and all, hopefully, working for the same goals, there is no point rehashing who said what. It's better for all of us to focus on a positive future.
The fact of the matter is, that although I have chosen to go a different direction with my campaign, I am deeply grateful for what Jim Merlino brought to my campaign, and I will continue to utilize many things that he taught me. He helped me develop credibility and momentum and I deeply appreciate it. Jim understands new politics and respects everyone involved with the political process. I wish him well in all that he does in the future.
Like anyone else, I make mistakes, and I made a mistake yesterday in not clarifying this matter. I sincerely apologize to Jim Merlino for any embarrassment or damage to his reputation. I hope this clears this matter up and that we can all move forward toward victory in November.
