I had to write about this because this really galls me, and it should really annoy every voter in PA. Everyone now knows that Rick Santorum does not live in PA, but he seems to be very concerned about who is looking into his so-called "residence" in Penn Hills, outside of Pittsburgh and has asked
police to keep an extra eye on the empty "home."
RICK SANTORUM DOES NOT LIVE IN PA!!!!! Yes, I am shouting it because every voter in PA needs to understand this. He cannot represent the people of PA when he doesn't live here, his children do not go to school in PA, although PA
paid for a chunk of their education, and his wife shops in expensive Tysons Corner, VA - not spending that senatorial income in PA so we don't even get those taxes.
"He doesn't live here," said Ed Vecchio of Penn Hills. "The house he's registered to vote out of, is vacant -- no curtains, furniture, nothing in there. It's abandoned for over a month. So, I feel it's my right to contest his vote."
Those comments from the husband of the head of the Penn Hills Democratic Party led police to beef up patrols around the home of U.S. Senator Rick Santorum.
<snip>
U.S. Capitol Police received a complaint from Karen Santorum.
She was worried that someone was trespassing or prowling on their Penn Hills property.
Interesting that she said "property" not home.
"They were here for five days over Mother's Day, and they left early Wednesday morning, to go back to Washington," said Betty Lee Garver, Senator Santorum's mother-in-law.
Oh so they stayed in their "home" in Penn Hills recently? I don't think so - because the house is vacant. Nothing even to sleep on.
So people of PA - wake up! Santorum doesn't care about PA. Remember that he lives in this palatial $757,000 home in Leesburg, VA.
And an added tidbit for us, if true, is this hilarious email from Santorum Campaign Manager Vince Galko, accusing the Casey campaign of peeking into the windows of the Santorum family home (via Atrios).
Before the ink had even dried on the primary election results, Casey's crew violated the Santorum family's home in search of political ammunition, instilling fear in Rick Santorum's wife, Karen, their six children, his in-laws and their neighbors to the point where the police had to be called in to protect the home.!
