Watch for yourself and share in the joyful shock as Ned Lamont and the Lamont grassroots/netroots "crashed the gate" at the CT Democratic convention last Friday. Lamont's inspiring and couragous campaign stunned the Democratic establishment in CT and shattered everyone's expectations to receive more than double the required number of votes to earn a place on the ballot against Joe Lieberman.

The amazing Spazeboy at La Resistance has painstakingly edited and spliced together each and every one of the 505 delegate votes at roll call at the convention last week. It's a short video, but as each vote or group of votes for Lamont comes in, you can feel the excitement build.

And don't forget to join the official Ned Lamont for Senate blog for a related discussion. Also, in honor of breaking yet another fundraising bat at Democracy for America, Ned Lamont will be liveblogging at Blog for America on Thursday at noon eastern time.
My favorite part of roll call, even though I know it bores a lot of other people, is when each town says its own boasting little speech. I find it endearing and old-fashioned.
Hearing some of those speeches end in "proudly casts its __ votes for Ned Lamont" is really moving, especially these collected by Tim Tagaris at the Lamont for Senate blog:
"Maddam Secretary, Southbury, the town that invited Joe Lieberman to speak in February, and is still waiting for a return call, proudly casts five votes for Ned Lamont!"
"In honor of the brave men and women fighting in Iraq, Monroe casts it's eight votes for Ned Lamont."
"Maddam Chair, the town of Willington, birthplace of of Jared Sparks, former president of Harvard University, and also the home of Antique Willington Glass proudly casts its three votes for a modern day American patriot, Ned Lamont."
I only wish the huge cheers for Lamont that came after each of these votes could have been included, but the video would have been double the length!
I also loved:
"Franklin, former home of the Franklin Mushroom (aside: Former home? Where did the mushroom go?!?), casts its one vote for Ned Lamont"
"...and one vote for defense of the Constitution, for Lamont"
"The shoreline town of Branford, the defenders of Long Island Sound and the home of Stony Creek Granite, casts 8 ballots for Lamont"
"And the great town of Fairfield, realizing that our country and Sean Hannity's favorite Democrat is going in the wrong direction, casts 18 ballots for Ned Lamont!"
