At a speech last Monday to a large group of College Democrats interning in Washington, DC this summer Howard Dean was asked about the tension between his vision for the party and the visions of Emanuel and Schumer.
The entire crowd was college students from across the country staying in DC this summer interning around the Hill.
To say the least, they thought they were pretty cool. I overheard such statements as, "They let me go pick up sometime from the Chief of Staff's house." Gotta love the intern life.
Nevertheless, one of them asked Dean a question about the infighting between Emanuel and himself about how to win the 2006 election.
Dean replied with the statement that none of the political infighting in Washington matters. This isn't what people care about.
I agree with him.
I've been going to school in DC for 2 years now and its amazing how when I go back home to PA that people could give a shit about inside the Beltway politics that the media insists on covering.
Gas prices...that's what matters.
Its good to hear that Dean cares about what America is thinking rather than what goes on inside the District.
Just my random thoughts for this beautiful Saturday afternoon.
