I wonder what we're doing here. So many seem so caught up in their own anger, often fueled by grossly one-sided views of history, that we seem to have lost track of the goals of this site, which is to ELECT DEMOCRATS, not to rage in support of every underdog in the world, no matter how just.

There are no "single-issue voters." Everybody has lot of issues. People start voting on just one when it becomes more important, or more urgent, than everything else in their bucket.
The most rabid anti-abortion zealot will turn to eminent domain when her home gets taken to make a shopping mall, because it is more urgent. The most fervent pro-choice marcher will get less active when there is a safely liberal Supreme Court. It's not one issue, it's the immediacy of that issue.
Well, people here seem intent on creating single-issue Jews. Jews have been in the forefront of the American liberal community for more than a century, in labor, in civil rights, everywhere. And most American Jews feel strongly connected to Israel, NOT "Eretz Y'Israel" ("Greater Israel"), and are conflicted over HOW to get to peace with its neighbors, including the Palestinians. And most American Jews know that while Israel has done a poor job of occupation, they believe that were the tables turned the Arabs would have done a good job of annihilation. And suddenly, one issue becomes more urgent, more important, than others. Suddenly, American Jews question whether the Democratic Party can be trusted to remember ALL the history of the region, to understand the pain and impossibility of Israel's choices, to support the continued existence of the Jewish State. And, voila, you have helped to create what was previously barely a ripple, and mostly a myth, the "Single-Issue Jew."
Congratulations.
