As noted in an
earlier kos diary, Missouri Senator Jim No-Talent is making a pathetic last-ditch effort to run away from his Repug cred and distance himself from Bush, now that he's facing a tough race with Claire McCaskill and the approval ratings for Bush and Missouri Repugs are in the toilet in the state. Although this is quickly becoming a common campaign strategy for all Repug incumbents, No-Talent's latest efforts to position himself has a centrist and a bipartisan are among the most laughable. Nobody owes their Senate seat to the fact that they are beholden to Bushco interests more than No-Talent, and nobody has been more of a rubber-stamper for Bushco than No-Talent.
This point is driven home in two new videos from the good folks at Fired Up! Missouri, a great Missouri-focused political blog started by former US Senator Jean Carnahan and some other prominent Missouri Dems. Jump down for some fun viewing.
The first video,
Ain't No Sunshine When He's Gone, uses Bill Withers' classic song to great effect to show No-Talent's closeness to Bush, and to highlight that Jimmy has voted with Bush 94% of the time.
The second video, Senator Jim Talent's Brand of Partisanship, isn't quite as much fun, but also worth watching.
Between now and election day, I hope to do a series of diaries to expose Jim No-Talent for who he really is, and to show why Claire McCaskill must be the next senator from Missouri. My current diaries in this series:
- Jim (No) Talent's Horrific Environmental Record
- Early Analysis of a Battleground Race
I encourage all you MO kossacks out there to join in the fun with your own diaries and help me bring this race home for Claire McCaskill.
