This diary is an expansion of a comment I made to an open thread.
On the local NPR affiliate this morning they were interviewing Ralph Ferrucci, the Green party candidate for CT-Sen. At the very end of the program he was asked if he would endorse Lamont and he said that he was open to talking with him and throwing himself behind Lamont if they came to agreement on certain issues.
I see this as a positive sign and a strategic opportunity but I haven't really thought through the politics of it. I was hoping to get some pros/cons from the people here.

I should note that I only caught the last portion of the interview and so could not comment on the rest until I have had a chance to listen.
I have been frustrated with the Greens being used as a wedge against us. It now appears that most Green party candidates receive most of their funding from GOP sources. Also, a large amount of Greens on the internet appear to just be 'RepubliGreens' who only want to tear down the Dems and sow dissent among our ranks.
FleetAdmiralJ summed it up rather well when he said, [the pros are obviously, it gets one more opponent out of the race that could slow Lamont down. The cons are that "Lamont makes deal with Green candidate" would just reinforce the "he's a leftist liberal" line being used against him.]
What do people think? Is this a good/bad move? Would it make us appear too leftist if we have public talks with the Greens?
