Really, this is starting to get a little
too easy.
Republicans are just all over the place these days. With so many trying to distance themselves from Bush these days, it's no surprise to hear statements from GOP candidates all over the country about how they favor troop withdrawals and want to approach the Iraq debacle with a new direction in mind. This is to be completely expected as we run up to the midterms and GOP candidates don't want their chances at attaining or maintaining seats to be set in jeopardy by the actions of the King.
However, I didn't expect this.
New Hampshire GOP Congressional hopeful, Mary Maxwell, things the 9/11 attacks were a hoax generated by the US to incite hatred against Muslims by America citizens to allow the US military to attack Muslim nations like Iraq. She won't state whether she feels the US
let it happen, or if the US played a role in the attacks themselves.
Maxwell would not specify if she holds the opinion that the government stood by while terrorists hijacked four domestic airliners and used them as weapons, or if it had a larger role by sanctioning and carrying out the attacks.
She also thinks the British, not the Germans, sunk the Lusitania in 1915.
She said this strategy "would be normal" for governments, citing her belief that the British government - and not the Germany military - sank the Lusitania ocean liner in 1915. The deaths of Americans on the cruise liner helped galvanize U.S. support to enter World War I, and benefited England, she said.
According to the Nashua Telegraph, this woman also has no political experience. She's seeking the 2nd District congressional seat and is up against the incumbent, Charles Bass of Peterborough, and Berlin Mayor Bob Danderson. The Republican primary there is September 12th.
Personally, there isn't much left to say. But I do wonder how her campaign is going and if she now expects to win in a landslide. Should we pull a GOP/Lieberman and get behind her and throw a few bucks her way to help her to win the Republican primary?
