When did Path to 9/11 go in to production? 2005? That's around the time
Net Neutrality first came up. Granted, the origins of the PT9/11 are tied up in the sick Clinton hating minds of Rethugs. But why would Disney ever even go with a series that is infinitely worse than "The Reagans," in the nature of the fiction, its tie in to a the biggest national tragedy since the civil war, and how current it is? There must be some compelling financial stake for Disney in all of this because given
how TV works, there's no way this gets the number of green lights it had to get otherwise.
Disney/ABC has to have a stake in all of this, there's no way a company would risk as many libel and share holder lawsuits otherwise. That stake, dear friends, is net neutrality.
A little more in extended.
Evidence that Disney/ABC is one of the bad guys:
deal with Verizon,
more on the deal between corporate media and telcos.
Expect all net neutrality measures to be killed shortly after the election if Republicans win with nary a peep from the corporate media. Does anyone know if Bush has taken any position on net neutrality? You could even expect him to oppose it because "the market will sort it out" or some such either shortly after the show airs, or shortly after elections.
This is all the more reason to fight for the internet and free culture (Book, and Lessig's blog).
