Not like there weren't already enough reasons to boycott Disney, or not to watch the Corporate Media, but tonight's airing of the so-called "docu-drama" that I shall not talk about by name is just one more reason. The only network that was producing content that rises to the level of Journalism was CBS with anchor Bob Schieffer, but, those days are sadly now over.
We must rise up and determine the new media landscape...

We must rise up and determine the new media landscape. We must demand that the use of the public airwaves rise to the level of the original mandate given by Congress!! If we were to rise up and form a citizens group such as Friends of Canadian Broadcasting (I recommend that you visit their site) we could draw ourselves out of our collective slumber and get something done.
A group called Media Matters for America has already started the fight, but, their mission either needs to be expanded or an entirely new organization must be formed.
And, there's another front to this battle -the fight to save NPR and PBS. Any day now Congress is set to vote on a bill to eliminate funding for this public broadcasting within two years. You may join me in demanding that your Senators and Congressmen/women filibuster any such efforts.
IT'S TIME TO START GETTING OUR COUNTRY BACK!!!!!!!!
So to quote Olbermann quoting Murrow:
"We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty"...
"We must remember always that accusation is not proof, and that conviction
depends upon evidence and due process of law.
We will not walk in fear - one, of another. We will not be
driven by fear into an age of un-reason, if we dig deep in our history
and our doctrine, and remember that we are not descended from fearful men;
Not from men who feared to write, to speak, to associate, and to
defend causes that were - for the moment - unpopular."
And so, good night, and good luck.
