Ah, the gift that keeps on giving...ladies and gentleman - The "good" lady from Florida, Katherine Harris!
Just a few minutes ago I was wondering why we haven't heard from Kos on any great Harris bungles lately, thought maybe she had been finally committed or something, so I did a google news search. Thank the all mighty flying spaghetti monster she hasn't been committed, but is still batshit crazy as ever.
From the
Orlando Sentinel (who has to be loving this as much as us):
Democrats are for me, Harris says
But the claim drew this response from one U.S. representative: "That would be a big 'No.' "
Harris said several House Democrats from Florida want her to defeat Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson this fall.
"You'll do so much more for us if you're there," Harris said they told her. "We hope you win."
That Florida Democrats would be pulling for any Republican is surprising.
No shit. Is this another case of Democrats loosing it? Traitors to our party? No, simply a slim figment of Ms. Harris's un-imagination.
But all seven House Democrats from Florida told the Orlando Sentinel they never expressed any support for Harris. Responses from two -- Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Alcee Hastings -- were typical.
"That would be a big 'No,' " Wasserman Schultz said.
"Under no circumstances, in any way, shape or form am I supporting Katherine Harris, nor do I know anybody in the delegation who is."
"I can assure you, Congressman Hastings is 110 percent committed to the re-election of Bill Nelson," Hastings' spokesman said.
"He wishes Katherine Harris well in her life as a private citizen next year."
So is there anyone that doesn't think she is nuts?
The episode creates for voters a rare moment of political clarity: Either some Florida Democrats are hiding something and actually told Harris they want her to win, or Harris is making up the whole thing.
Former Harris campaign manager Jim Dornan is convinced Harris invented the story.
......
In the past, she has claimed the media doctored photos of her, described a nonexistent plot to blow up a power grid in Indiana and urged Florida scientists to treat citrus canker with a solution that turned out to be water.
Emphisis mine, but there is so much good stuff in there was tempted to bold the whole thing.
Seriously. Thank you thank you thank you for not dropping out. Oh, and keep talking to the press, I think it is really helping your campaign.
