Our grassroots election reform group (Washington Citizens for Fair Elections) will be discussing vote by mail. Please see the meeting announcement below the fold. Invite all your friends!
Why this matters now: Ron Sims, our King County executive, has recently proposed we go 100% vote by mail. Here's some background links: Executive calls for all-mail voting, Polling places may be history in King County, and All-mail voting may cut fraud. Note that King Co, with 1m voters, is the 3rd largest in the country.
Some of us support 100% vote by mail, others oppose it, and even more are undecided. We'll be asking people before and after the presentation and Q&A to see where every is on this issue. For you part, please take the poll (below).
Washington Citizens for Fair Elections invites you to our upcoming meeting. The topic will be Vote By Mail: How it works, the mechanics, the benefits, and the risks. It will be very relevant given the proposal to shift King County and the entire state to vote-by-mail. There will be a presentation followed by question and answer discussion.
If you have questions or issues you'd like addressed in the presentation, please submit them to fairelections@julieg.net.
Washington Citizens for Fair Elections is a new, multi-partisan group forming to educate people on issues around elections, and to work for free, fair, transparent, verifiable elections.
