I believe that this has been brought up in the past, but I wanted to bring it up after attending a speech at my local library that held a "Civil Rights" lecture this past weekend. One of the speakers was a Jewish man that had fled Germany during WWII, he joined the Belgian Resistance and later returned to Germany with the US Army.
During his speech he talked about how many Germans proudly displayed the Swastika on their arm or at their place of business. Later they displayed it out of an unknown fear that if they did not they could pay with their lives. Finally, those that continued to display it after the Nazis fell and the atrocities were discovered were beaten within an inch of their lives by their fellow citizens.
This made me think - is the little W stickers that we see the next swastika and will it get that bad?
I have to admit that when I see people driving around with W stickers, I feel physically disgusted and feel a rage come over me that I don't like. I feel like I could actual hurt a fellow human being. Especially those Stickers that say W:
Still The President!! Those make me nearly go nuts.
I see those little stickers and to me it might as well be a swastika or a KKK sticker. Am I wrong to feel this way? I don't know.
What will happen if Bush's approval ratings fall farther, will that mean more people will be entertaining thoughts like this? What happens if we discover even more heinous crimes that have be commited by this administration? What happens if the economy really plummets? What happens if gas skyrockets? (Atleast we will know which cars to siphon gas from.)
What does the Kossack Nation think?
