Unless you have been living in a vacuum you have heard by now that
Paul Hackett unleashed a barrage against the fundamentalists who have hijacked the GOP. In typical Hackett fashion, when challenged by the Ohio GOP for his statements he didn't back down.
The fun really starts below the break.
Today the
Ohio Democratic party unloaded on them too
On Monday, Ohio Republican Party Chairman Robert T. Bennett said Hackett should apologize, but state Democratic spokesman Brian Rothenberg disagreed.
"If Bob Bennett needs an apology, he should apologize for Tom DeLay, Bob Ney, Bob Taft and Tom Noe," Rothenberg said. "This is nothing more than a smokescreen from the corruption that surrounds him."
Heh. that's a refreshing change !
Right on cue, as if to reinforce Hackett's position, Here comes Ken Blackwell at an event last night. It was all organized by the Rod Parsley, Russell johnson "Ohio Restoration Prjoect"
About 330 Christian faithful rallied at the Hartville Kitchen to sing praises of America, to remind themselves of the dangers of complacency, and to hear gubernatorial candidate J. Kenneth Blackwell preach on God's call to action.
...
Johnson warned that Christians have allowed a ``secular jihad'' to remove prayer, the Ten Commandments and the Bible from public places.
He likened it to Nazi Germany, where church congregations would sing so that they could not hear the passing of trainloads of crying Jews headed for a nearby concentration camp.
Too many Christians lead ``Neville Chamberlain lives,'' Johnson said, referring to the British prime minister who signed a neutrality pact with Adolf Hitler.
A picture of Hitler and Chamberlain flashed on the screens.
Nutty Russell Johnson at a Ken Blackwell event showing just how extreme the GOP have become in Ohio. It's like they can't help themselves.
Their top tier candidate at an event with Hitler flashing on the screen. I shit you not. So extreme their so called moderate Gov candidate, Betty Montgomery is dropping out of the race because she isn't viable.
Now what was Bob Bennett saying about the GOP not being hijacked by extremists in Ohio ?
