As an avid Googler, I was pretty disappointed with Google for agreeing to filter search results on its Chinese website. I thought long and hard about my response and immediately decided against an all out boycott (honestly, they are the best search engine out there!), so I came up with a better plan, and faxed it to them. I encourage you to do the same. My letter after the fold.

Dear Google,
As a longtime Google user I must say that yesterday's news of your Chinese site is disappointing. I understand your position that filtered information is better that no information at all, and I also understand that China is a huge market that can become extremely profitable for your company. The people of China deserve the same unfettered access to the information of the world that you provide for your other users.
I will continue to use your site because you reliably deliver the most relevant information for my queries, but as my form of protest, I will no longer click on any sponsored ads, whether they appear in my gmail account, or in response to my queries. I do hope that you will reconsider your decision and stay true to your "Don't be Evil" philosophy.
Respectfully,
