Did anyone catch last night's Daily Show? It was one of the best I've seen, and the first item on his adgenda: Noting that the WH press corps had, until recently, been reduced to transcribing what they were told. Today, they * gasp * actually
asked questions!! [insert clips of the press questioning McClellan about Bush's National Guard service]
Here comes the best part: Jon asks the press corps, "WHERE THE F#@K HAVE YOU BEEN?!"
It was fine journalism, and a great question to pose to our nation's press - and a question that bloggers have been posting about for a LONG time. Seems like Jon got on the blog-train & is having a blast. :)
He followed up with clips of Khan's "my bad" apology & his subsequent pardon. Then he raises the point that none of the nations that Khan admitted selling nuclear secrets to was...IRAQ, and that the White House surprisingly didn't say anything on the topic of WMD. Which is weird, because weren't they the ones in an uproar about them?
Dave Chappelle was the guest star, and he gave Jon/Daily Show "street accolades" for getting a different point of view out.
I couldn't agree more - the Daily Show has been a better "fake" news organization than the "real" journalists out there.
Now, here's a meaningless poll. Enjoy!
