Student protesters, who did wait patiently through 45-minutes of Minutemen Militia founder Jim Gilchrist speech, final had an enough. In some old school student action, at an Ivy League school no less, they stormed the stage and took control. The Young Republicans came to Gilchrist aid, only to be repelled when they realized they would actually have to fight to take back control.
When faced with physical confrontation for control of the stage, the conservatives folded like the paper tigers they were.
This happened last night, October 4, 2006.
Video includes punching, kicking, sad attempts at banner-grabbing, and a chant that has been a long time coming, hopefully still ringing in Gilchrist's ears.

One conservative student said the Chicano protest was "a poor representation of Columbia's intellectual capabilities. These people are animals."
Yes, damn brown folk are getting all uppity aren't they? At a WASP institution! How dare they give you the vapors. This was the money quote from Scott, who didn't have the cojones to say his last name:
"No conservative would ever act the way we just saw the democratic liberals act."
Yes, the conservative way is to use surrogates to fight your wars for you, so you never have to do the fighting you so heartily cheerlead. To let other people do you dirty work, while you pose and posture for ideals you would never personally carry the banner for. I know, because this dude did not have the will to grab the banner from the opposition this very day.
The Chicanos are mad, and they are not going to take it anymore. Columbia uninvited the President of Iran because it offended some students, then how in God's name could they then justify bringing Gilchrist in?
Viva.
