We at the Stover campaign have been overwhelmed by the response of the DailyKOS community regarding our first diary. It was great to read feedback from so many of you, and even though it was impossible to respond to everyone, be assured that every message was read. Mercifully, you were pretty easy on us for not knowing how to post a direct link to our donation page and to our website. We'll try to learn how to make those links (no luck yet).
Don't let our lack of technological prowess let us dissuade you from talking about our campaign :)
We're continuing to find out here at the Stover campaign that even though we have a campaign with newly found national significance and recognition, we are truly still fighting a grassroots effort. Even though our contributions have DOUBLED in the past week (thanks to all), we are still 10:1 funding underdogs compared to the Shimkus campaign.
We're optimistically comfortable with being funding underdogs. While new donations have allowed us to reconsider some of our marking campaigns and large-scale mailings, our campaign still largely depends on volunteers getting our message out and meeting as many people as possible. We have one clear advantage over Shimkus in this regard. Our volunteers have a positive message to share! As we continue to share our message regarding fair trade agreements, living wage for all Americans, and comprehensive health care protection for all Americans, we know the donations, votes and support will arrive accordingly.
So, while we continue to ask the DCCC and numerous PACs for their support, endorsements and efforts, we will continue to do our best to offer a positive message of change, integrity, and new ideas for Southern Illinois at the United States House of Representatives.
Stay tuned!
P.S. Our chief DailyKOS responder will be on the road today, but he looks forward to reading your ideas and comments regarding getting our message out as soon as he reaches an internet terminal.
