One (more) delicious bit in Woodward's new tome is his reference to the frequent contacts between the White House (Bush, Cheney and Rice/Powell) and Henry Kissinger (now apparently
confirmed by Kissinger ). Not surprising by itself, the revelation must be of special concern to the unlikely champion of the administration -- I am talking about Christopher Hitchens of Slate.
Hitchens had the ill fortune to write
The United States is home to an individual whose record of war crimes bears comparison with the worst dictators of recent history. Please stand, ex-Secretary of State and National Security Advisor, Henry A. Kissinger.
This is the guy who bought into the propaganda and penned
Why Zarqawi's death matters
and
"Why Haditha isn't My Lai", and
"Don't Talk to the Mullahs", and
The Cole Report
When it comes to Iran, he distorts, you decide. and
"Clueless Joe Wilson" and numerous other trashy missives that somehow always seem to support the administration. What will he say now that the "war criminal" Kissinger is revealed as a contributor to the policies that the unapologetic and righteous Hitchens so vehemently supported.
Cognitive Dissonance?
