I ran across
this article of The Chattanooga Pulse about the Senate Race in TN and I read this quote:
Ford wants you to think he's a lawyer even though he didn't pass the bar exam.
I think this is not correct but I do not know for sure. There are no comments on this article yet, but we should correct this impression if it's wrong.
Does somebody know?
I researched Ford's
wikipedia entry, and it says:
During his campaign for the House of Representatives, he sat for and failed to pass the Tennessee Bar Exam, stating that "I didn't study, and the results showed," but he has publicly acknowledged that he will try again [5].
That seems to fit the article, but its reference is a Metro Pulse article from 2004, and there it says:
Ford's path to the Senate won't be easy, but he's spent 33 years being groomed and preparing for a life in politics. Everything else has taken a back seat to that. Even his first attempt at passing the bar exam fell by the wayside as he focused instead on his first run for Congress. ("I didn't study, and the results showed," is all he'll say.)
So they say he only failed his first attempt (implying he succeded in a second).
Does anybody know?
