Tom Reynolds (R-enabler, NY) is getting desparate for cash to shore up his and other floundering campaigns. So desparate that
he's got staff calling small, out-of-state, obscure GOP donors and offering to give them an "award" for their service. Of course the award will come at a cost, a sizable donation to the Republican war chest.
How do I know this dirty little secret? Seems his folks called up my dad, who is a lifelong Democrat, proposing that very thing. Of course, they were tasteful enough to leave off discussing the donation until after he confirmed, which he never did. My dad, an Ohio lawyer, donated to a GOP candidate a few years back, a judge who he had worked with and respected. Since then, and despite his lifetime Democratic credentials, he occasionally gets contacted by GOP candidates who are struggling to make ends meet. Now it seems that Tom Reynolds and the entire Republican party has joined those ranks.
Folks, Reynolds must be really hard up for cash to be reaching out to these desparation donors at this point in the game. My dad has given once, ONCE, to a GOP candidate in a local judicial election. And, suddenly, he has staff members from the head of the RNCC calling his office, offering an "award" for his service to the Party?
My dad still has his Kerry/Edwards sticker on his car, for pity's sake.If you were looking for another one of those signs that the GOP is hitting the panic button, you've found it, my friends.
