Emmy Award-winning documentarian Dorothy Fadiman premiered her lastest film Sunday night in Palo Alto to a packed house.
Stealing America: Vote by Vote combines interviews with voting volunteers, computer security experts, journalists, and exit poll researchers with media footage to weave a compelling tale of deliberate and criminal vote manipulation, suppression, and fraud.
Until the midterms on November 7th, the production company
Concentric Media is offering DVD copies of the new film for a share-them-with-your-friends price of $5 (they take a loss on each one, but the hope they'll influence the chances of clean-election laws (prop 89 in CA, for instance) makes the sacrifice worthwhile.
This final version of the film that premiered tonight (I'd attended two "work in progress" screenings) is taut, powerful, and thoroughly researched. It is not particularly partisan (several interviewees are Republicans agreeing that the issue of a trustworthy vote process transcends party and strikes directly at the heart of democracy), though I can't claim the same for the crowd that turned up in Palo Alto - applause broke out several times when someone on screen made a point about badly we were all served by the media collapse on the issue of the Ohio vote irregularities at the time.
