you can now officially and lawfully be "DISAPPEARED" in America.
read the bill its 80 pages and the language is scary...is
beyond scary and moves into orwellian land.
At first the bill seems to only concrete the ability
of the president to define the Geneva Conventions and
allow torture to be used on detainees. But when you
start to read it it also defines non-allegiance as an
act of terrorism. It then goes on to include the
following into the corral of terrorism: vandals,
people who fight near "protected buildings",
squatters, petty thieves, and anyone "who with intent
or reason to believe that it is to be used to the
injury of the United States" collects information
(such a broad term) "clandestine" means.
What's more, it also prevents the courts from arguing
with it, people from bringing the Geneva Conventions
into a defense trial, and prevents people held under
these terms from receiving any knowledge of the
charges against them - preventing any sort of defense.
you dont aid the enemy? Such "aid" could be an
innocent donation of money to a charity that, unknown
to the donor, turned out to somehow be providing funds
to an organization associated with a terrorist
organization. A Christian charity that donates some of
its funds to an Iranian state orphanage might easily
if inadvertently fit that bill
This bill is not specifically targeted at Al-Qaeda I
dare you to find anywhere in the 80 pages where it
defines terrorist as only Al-Qaeda.
Terrorists are who they say terrorist are with this
open ended bill.
They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a
little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor
safety.
