Hello from Philadelpia.
The birtplace of liberty seems to be a perfect place to be today and Monday to help a few key Congressional candidates cross the finish-line strong.
Before we get to the key battleground of Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia suburbs, let me tell you about last night's event in Miami Beach for
Congressional candidate Michael Calderin.
I hosted an intimate fund raiser for Michael Calderin - about 40 people - in classic 1950s art deco hotel. If you don't know Michael Calderin, I understand he's the youngest Congressional candidate in the nation. He's just 26!
So if you can, drop by and drop $26 in Calderin's campaign. Michael Calderin is young and full of the fire and passion we all need in Congress. More importantly, he -and many young leaders - are the future of a new politics we need to nurture if we're going to really change things.
On to the land of liberty.
Tomorrow, I'll be meeting with Joe Sestak. Excuse me, that's Vice-Admiral Joe Sestak who is locked in a tight and tough race in Pennsylvania's 7th district. His opponent is Curt Weldon, yes, THAT Curt Weldon.
Joe Sestak, it should not surprise you to know is a strong defender of our liberty and will respect our privacy and families. Curt Weldon, on the other hand, is a George Bush Republican who voted to pander to the right-wing at the expense of my family.
At 2:30 tomorrow, I'll be holding a press conference with the Philadelphia media to remind voters that Curt Weldon isn't the crack in the libery bell.
Mike Fitzpatrick is another George Bush and Tom Delay Republican from Philadelphia area who joined Weldon in voting to make our personal decisions the subject of a prime time political debate.
They both have to go.
After a few private press interviews and an early morning drive-time radio show on Tuesday, I'll be back on plane headed west to help another great candidate for Congress before heading home to Florida on Wednesday.
If you're in the Philadelphia area tomorrow and would like to attend the press conference, I'd love to see you and would appreciate your support. Here's the info:
