I just saw a preview for a special airing tonight on Anderson Cooper 360° titled "Democrats in Charge" at 10pm Eastern. I don't know if this special will shed a positive light on Dems or not, but the 360° Blog says some interesting things, which I'm assuming will be the focus of the special
The blog is here: [

The entry begins:
Elect the Democrats, the White House says, and get a weaker war on terror and higher taxes.
"The voters out there need to ask the question: Which political party will support the brave men and women that wear the uniform when they do their job of protecting America," is one way Mr. Bush has framed the issue in recent speeches.
But then it goes on to explain why, even if elected, the Democrats will not be able to accomplish their agenda unchecked - since Mr. Bush will, still, be President for 2 more years.
For Democrats, one challenge if they retake the House, which even many Republicans see as a distinct possibility, would be to pick and choose their fights with the White House.
The blog mentions that Democrats, mindful of looking partisan, are not going to go on a "witchhunt." So, while they will insist on oversight, I won't hold my breath for impeachment.
Again, this airs tonight at 10pm. I'm not a fan of Anderson Cooper, and I doubt his show will have much pull. I'm just trying to watch everything coming out in the MSM right now about the Dems. I'll update after it airs. (And this is my first diary, so please be kind.)
