Reaction to the Harold Ford attack ad in Tennessee.

Republican attack artists are at it again. When Democrats have them beat on issues they turn to racism in an attempt to divide the electorate.
The most current episode of race and politics can be found in Tennessee where Republicans are running a disgraceful ad against Congressman Harold Ford, an African American. In the ad policy positions are mixed with a white playboy girl seeking Ford in a personal manner. Some say the ad is funny, I say the ad is racist.
Any reader of southern history knows that literature of segregationist groups during the integration period warned that giving African Americans power would lead to the intermixing/intermarrying of races. This ad was designed to enrage the White males of Tennessee with the use of Ford's potential victory and the attraction of a white female.
When will we as Americans wake up and put to rest such blatant forms of racism. Harold Ford is a decent man with moderate political positions. He advocates helping everyday Americans in a time when working families need all the help they can get. Race was not an issue in this campaign until it was introduced by a 527 group closely associated with Ken Mehlman and the Republican National Committee.
I hope Democrats of all stripes are as outraged over this blatant use of race bating as I am. Men should be judged by the content of their characters, not by the color of their skin. The RNC attack ad does no judging of character, but prejudges a man based on the color of his skin.
It is time to put an end to the politics that seeks to divide us by race. By defeating Bob Corker in the Tennessee Senate Race, the voters of Tennessee will take a big step forward in fulfilling the quest for true racial equality. Democrats of all stripes must dedicate themselves to aiding Harold Ford and the good folks of Tennessee on this endeavor.
