Want to do more than your bare civic duty?
Want to record for All of History & for All to See what transpired on Nov 7th 2006 right here in the good ol USA?
Want to actually record the lying liars when they start to spin?
Visual Evidence of their contempt for Democracy to be viewed by all November 8th.
Visit the polling places in your area and bring video recording equipment of any sort. Use that 30 day return policy. ; )
I've decided to try the old "fix it from the inside" tactic this year.
Yes.
I've joined the ranks of election workers.
I've taken the training and read the "manual".
Insanity? 16 hour day? Maybe.
But that actually isn't what this is about.
That diary will have to wait till I can gather my thoughts on the matter. But my hopes for a clean election withered when I read the manual.
So the question becomes what can those who won't be working the election from the "inside" do to help?
Watch. Closely.
Camera / video phones are very handy. make sure yours is charged and don't leave it at home.
If you see that one polling place has lines - record it. In whatever fashion you have available to you.
Make notes when you see polling places in well off areas that have plenty of machines where poorer areas in the same district have too few. - such was the case in my area. My polling location had plenty of machines but a few miles away in a lower income are there were only 2 and many more voters. -
"video the vote"is a site with top rung election activists. There is a very well done video promo. We can use the tools available to record problems. highlight inadequate equipment. Prove our case. Protect our democracy. May it live once again.
If you accept this mission your day may be long - and late. but on the plus side your enemies, and the fruit of their actions, will be exposed. & pissed.
