I always like to lead with good news. First, it's not what we called for, but Senator Bill Nelson has donated a little bit to help the cause. Big kudos and mad props to the Senator.
In what we think is even better news, Keith Fitzgerald has been endorsed by the Pelican Press. This can only serve to bolster a campaign with a great deal of momentum already on its side. As they said in their wicked-strong endorsement (after the jump):
"...[H]is positions on educational problems facing Florida clearly speak to the issues without the political posturing that has characterized this subject in recent years. Fitzgerald communicates his thoughts clearly and convincingly, never talking down to anyone, but never dumbing down his ideas either.
His service on the City of Sarasota Charter Review Board demonstrated that ability again and again.
Sarasota deserves a representative the quality of Keith Fitzgerald and we're fortunate he's agreed to stand for election. The Pelican Press recommends Keith Fitzgerald for the Florida House of Representatives District 69 seat in the Florida Legislature."
Read the whole thing here. It's the good stuff.
If you're reading this you probably follow politics pretty well, and if that's the case, then you know that now is the time to volunteer for your favorite candidate. Now is the time to take a day or two off work and get out there and wave signs, or walk precincts, or drive folks to the polls. Now is the time to get off the couch and get busy.
Of course, I know that Keith would appreciate seeing you come out if you live in or around the Sarasota/Bradenton area. He needs your help -- email the campaign at:

And he needs your strong support. Thanks.
