Yesterday, ABC News and WGN both reported that Dennis Hastert is campaigning. They were tipped off by Hastert's rather large radio ad buy on WGN radio and they may have taken notice of his $100,000 Cable TV buy.
John spent the day campaigning in the Western portion of the district yesterday with Tim Wise (Henry Co. Sheriff candidate) and Vicki Wright (Third Appellate Court Judge candidate).

Dennis Hastert had two choices; he could campaign and spend some money or he could easily lose his seat to the 32-year old carpenter who has been working for change in Illinois' 14th District.
Here are some more clear signs that Dennis Hastert is campaigning to hold on to his seat as Illinois' 14th District Representative.
- Hastert for Congress (H4C) paid the McLaughlin Group to conduct at least two polls in IL 14 over the last three weeks.
- H4C has scheduled an election-year ribbon-cutting tour to take the focus off of key issues like Iraq. On Oct. 26, Hastert attending ribbon-cutting and ground breaking ceremonies for a new bridge project between Aurora and North Aurora and a new parking deck in Geneva and on Oct. 27, Hastert attended a ground-breaking ceremony for Patriot Renewable Fuels, an ethanol plant in Annawan, IL.
- Laura Bush conducted a robo-dial, paid for by H4C, throughout the 14th district on Oct. 26th.
- H4C has used at least three mass-mailers over the last month. The latest is below:
- H4C for Congress has bought at least $100,000 in cable TV advertisements and has ads currently running on WGN radio.
