Today a great fighting Dem,
Lt. Col. Sid Atwater (USMC, Ret.) spoke out for
Phyllis Busansky who is running for Congress in FL-09. Atwater served our country for 24 years as an officer in the United States Marine Corps and was last stationed at USCENTCOM (the Joint Headquarters responsible for the operational/military aspects to our country's policies in the Middle East), MacDill AFB, Tampa where he served as the Branch Chief of the War Plans Division. He spoke out for Phyllis and against rubber-stamp legacy wanna-be, Gus Bilirakis.
More beyond the jump...
In his letter he slams Bilirakis:
How is it possible for a candidate for US Congress to have no coherent position or plan on the war in Iraq? In simple language - he doesn't have a clue... and I am actually fearful for our country if Gus Bilirakis is elected from the 9th Congressional District.
Gus Bilirakis has gone from an earlier view of "we're on the right track, and we're doing the right thing" (10/26/05, St. Petersburg Times) to now in this debate stating the following: "Well I feel that they [Iraqis] voted three times for democracy and we need to put pressure on the Iraqi government, that's what I would do, put pressures and set timetables for the Iraqi government to secure their country."
The letter is also a plea for us to all tune into the only debate Bilirakis would consent to that airs tomorrow night:
With the election just eight days away, I was absolutely stunned by Gus Bilirakis' performance in the only debate with his opponent Democrat Phyllis Busansky. Quite frankly you have to see this to believe it.
You don't actually have to wait until tomorrow night to see how utterly inept Bilirakis is. You can watch an excerpt right now. Its amazing how little $3million has done for this guy. Check it out for yourselves.
