Instead of curing my midnight insomnia, I was shocked into full alertness when I scuffled into the living room and flopped on the couch for some late night/early morning TV.
...This ultimate in utter hypocrisy actually appears to be our final and ultimate indication that we have fallen into a complete and utter burial in hell....
The setting: I was innocently watching the only channel devoid of soft-porn or food gadget related infomercials: Court TV.
And who do I see? http://www.american.edu/...
James Baker being interviewed as member of the National Commission on Federal Election Reform .
Yes, James Baker - he of "Velvet Hammer" fame, who was the media speaker behind the gopers drive to steal the 2000 election.
He is apparently a co-chairman with Jimmy Carter. Gerald Ford was to be the other chairman, but due to illness the "Velvet Hammer" stood in his place.
OK...did everybody just "forget" who represented the gopers during the Florida recount? Who threatened retribution on national news if the Florida recount continued?
If there's one thing I recall next to Cruella de Vil, it's James Baker and his endless "White Angry Man" posturing in 2000 ... from a Time article during the recount saga:
"...James Baker's dire warnings that if we persist in this crazy "unconstitutional" recount, markets will collapse, world leaders will wobble and general mischief will abound. In Baker's view, the bipartisan counters are secret croupiers itching to stack the deck. There are more surveillance cameras than in a Las Vegas casino and more on-site baby sitters than in your average day-care center, but somehow these volunteers are going to cook the books."

And now he's trying to be the spokesperson for reform? How can Jimmy Carter stand it? No wonder Baker and Carter were interviewed alone, the smell of sulphur was probably too strong for Jimmy and knocked him out.
Anyways, as for the show - it was the pinnacle of hypocrisy for a goper hack. Trying to come off as grandfatherly, concerned, the ultimate compromiser (if I heard one more time how they also gave in to their "democrat friends" again I could have puked). Bullshit.
It's just like HW on Larry King one night, and then the next day preaching mushroom clouds in America with a dem takover during a goper fundraiser in Connecticut.
What a bunch of shisters...
[/rant] anyways, more on the commission here:
