Confessions of an Unity Chaplain
I am queasy, I have no words. I am fighting my fear.
Gracious Holy Spirit, loving Father, Mother God:
As I breathe, I inhale the substance of God.
God is with me always.
I close my eyes; I see the face of God.
God is with me always.
I exhale, what I am merges with the substance of God.
God is with me always.'
I am the living expression of God's love.
God is with me always.
I deny the powers of fear and hate between your children.
I reject with every breath, every thought, every cell in my body the notion that we are living in a reign of terror.
I will not acknowledge the power of negativity and hate to dictate how I love my fellow human being.
I affirm the Truth and the Law, as I do unto others they will do unto me.
I pray for patience and wisdom for my leaders.
I pray for peace.
And so it is,
Amen.
I am floating; my head and heart are not connected. Mostly, I would love to have this awareness; perhaps it would assure me that I had completed my meditation. I can not lie to myself.
Somewhere the Earth is screaming. Her children are hurting; they kill each other and their terrestrial home.
North Korea has tested a bomb.
The Earth is screaming.
My spiritual practices remind me that as I am, so are you. As my fellow man hurts so do I. I am that I am. I am that you are.
How have we failed our leaders? Are they not just a reflection of us?
I know why it is called a spiritual practice.
The light of God surrounds us;
The love of God enfolds us;
The power of God protects us;
The presence of God watches over us;
Wherever we are God is.
