Haggard has just confessed to "some" of the allegations in an e-mail to his congregation.
The Rev. Ted Haggard, who stepped down as head of the 30 million-member National Association of Evangelicals on Thursday after allegations that include having gay sex, has confessed to some of the allegations, a fellow pastor said in an e-mail to church members.
Methinks this just got a whooooole lot bigger...
Lest you think this is unverified:
>"It is important for you to know that he confessed to the overseers that some of the accusations against him are true," Ross Parsley, the acting senior pastor at New Life Church stated.
The article doesn't say which allegations he confessed to, but considering the options I don't think any confession will be good news for the fundies.
Can anyone say "demoralized base?"
I suspect there will be a lot of soul-searching amongst the fundamentalists between now and election day. With any luck, they'll stay home on Tuesday while they try to "sort things out...."
P.S.--> Sorry for the short diary.
