Raw Story warns about Cheney's
desperate attack speech tonight.
Now is the perfect time to go on offense. Just the right time to talk about Cheney and Iraq.
I disagree with those who are saying we should just go silent about the Kerry affair. If the media is going to continue the He Said/She Said game, Democrats should seize the moment.
This is an opportunity. Send him back to his cave.
Excerpt of the Cheney's disgusting remarks:
Instead they highlight people like John Kerry, their presidential nominee in 2004. Aren't we lucky he lost that election? You remember John Kerry - the senator who voted for the 87 billion dollars before he voted against it ... the guy that was always lecturing us about "nuances." He's the one, you'll recall, who last year said that American soldiers were "terrorizing ... children" in Iraq. And just this week he took another swipe at the U. S. military. Here's what he said, word for word. Quote: "You know education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq." End quote. Well, apparently Senator Kerry's the one who needs to be educated.
RESPONSE
1)Dick Cheney - stop hiding behind the troops! You've used our troops to shield yourself from criticism long enough. Our brave men and women fight to protect this country - they are not to be used as your own personal political tool.
2) Don't tell me who supports the troops. You sent thousands of our best and brightest to die in a war so that you and your rich Haliburton friends could get richer.
3) Lets talk about Iraq. Why did you send billions of taxpayer dollars to Haliburton and KBR, for work that never got done?
4)Haliburton and KBR have not yet, in four years, restored electricity to Iraq. Even Saddam provided 24-hour electricity. This is making life in Iraq beyond bleak, and fueling the insurgency. What exactly are we paying for here?
4) What happened to the $10 billion taxpayer dollars that simply got lost in Iraq? Why did you put 20-year old kids, with no experience in finance or accounting, in charge of billion-dollar Iraq budgets?
So, I say get out in front of this. It keeps Iraq on the front burner. Just what Cheney doesn't want to talk about.
