I guess many of you would have seen the results of his actions, if not directly, then the actions of people who got
inspired (as well as outraged) in the course of the last two years. A true grassroots movement starting I believe shortly after the Abu Ghraib scandal.

The Freewayblogger started posting cardboard signs on, well, on freeways, that is, on bridges and in bushes (sure) and trees that were visible from well-used motorways. And in the course of time, HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of folks have seen those signs, with the content and icon-like visuals (the black-cloated hooded wired Iraqi) slipping into their subconscious every time they'd pass.
Right, just some cardboard and tape and then the impact.
The Freewayblogger has been the subliminal - or not so subliminal - advocate of what was - and still is - so wrong, and of what's right, and of what values are about, and of what anybody can do to make a difference.
It has cost his marriage, apparently, but it may well be that seeing those messages (most: the war is a lie, and variations of that) a change of mind of all those car driving ordinary Americans has been put to simmer, in the name of freedom of expression.
Therefore, I say: kudos to the Freewayblogger.
