There was quite a bit of hope in previous front page postings by Markos, but it appears to be over for Darcy Burner's challenge to Dave Reichert. According to the Seattle PI, Reichert has continued to increase his lead (from about 3500 to over 4700) despite hopes that Burner would close the gap with additional ballots from Democrat-friendly King County. Here is a blurb about the
concession:
Reichert said Burner called to congratulate him on a second term, and the two shared their frustrations about the slow pace of Washington's largely vote-by-mail elections.
"Finally, something we agree on," Reichert told The Associated Press in a phone interview from Washington, D.C.
Burner did not publicly concede Monday night, but called a news conference Tuesday in Bellevue.
Maybe next time . . .
UPDATE: Here is the email from the Burner campaign about the conference tomorrow.
