I have always been skeptical about all the "evidence" for global warming, but today I watched a short video even more stunning than any movie Al Gore could ever make. A few days ago, I read
Mike Stark's diary, The scariest fucking thing I've ever read, and although I was slightly disturbed, I thought, 'Oh, it will be ok.' ...but then I saw
this video. It's one thing to read about the possibility of the Amazon turning into a desert, and another thing completely to see it with your own eyes.

Truth be told, I'm one of those people who questions whether humans are causing this or whether it's part of Earth's grand plan for us. But what's the point of looking for blame? We have to consider the possibility that we might be causing this and act accordingly, and regardless of the cause, we have to consider the possibility that catastrophic climate change will occur in our lifetimes. I know there's a lot else going on in the world, but if nothing else can unite us, maybe saving ourselves from the ravages of the Earth can. The evidence for catastrophic climate change is striking, and we have the opportunity to either unite and save ourselves or do nothing.
It's easy for many uber-conservatives to shrug this off and hypocritically expect the fittest to survive, and it's even easier to blame them for their inaction, but if we let this situation catch us by surprise, it's no one's fault but our own.
