This isn't a strictly "by the guidelines" diary, but I am sure everyone who is on this site and watches the punditocracy has noticed that, increasingly, Republican pundits can no longer say "Democratic" but instead say "Democrat Party" when clearly the adjective form is required.
Given the spread of this trend like a virus (and so similar to all Republican Media Machine campaigns), one gets the feeling that some sinister campaign is at work. Some typical war of rhetoric is at work, but what is it?
Slightly more below the fold.
Pardon me for not developing this more fully, but I think we all know what I'm talking about. The example that made me write this querying diary was on Hardball tonight, where Ron Christie, former Bush White House advisor, said, "Democrat Party," and Chris Matthews got annoyed and called him on it, asking, "Why can't you say Democratic?" However, this happens constantly now, and I'm wondering what the code-word cabal is cooking up.
Please, if I missed a discussion on this, forgive me. (My computer crapped out right before the election and I was deprived of DailyKos.com for the two most critical weeks of the season! UGH!) However, I would love to hear others' ideas on this odd phenomenon.
