Someone should seriously think about introducing a bill about giving gays complete tax exemtion status. Why would that be a good idea? See why below...
Think about it, if you don't get to enjoy some of the most important moments of people's lives (gay marriage, military service without being in the closet, etc) because of your sexual orientation at least do not make them pay the same "entry free" (taxes) as the rest, who enjoy those. If many in the government don't want them to participate in stuff that involves the government then do not expect them to pay the taxes. Churches participate in politics although they shouldn't and still retain their exemption status, so to really stir the pot start taxing these churches and put gays in their place as tax exempt.
A true effective government body allows for equality and fairness for it's citizens regardless of sexual orientation, race, religion, gender, disability, and culture.
I should stress this should never pass (It's satire after all), it is just a wake up call for the anti-gay crowd to realize if you deny rights to anyone that it makes government run least effectively from the standpoint of a true republic.
And I do not mean the whole "seperate but equal" bulllshit of civil unions. Seperate but equal is inheritly unequal. Nor do I mean the current policy of "Don't ask, don't tell" that still has the odor of still not being equal.
