I'm embarrassed to confess my gross ignorance of the mechanics and rules of my government, but alas, I must. Yes, I did pass HS Civics, but I felt it was not a big deal. Hell, we had the Constitution, Supreme Court, and a congress full of good men to protect us, didn't we?
What the Hell Happened somewhere between Eisenhower and Florida?
Anyway, my question is - Is it legal to simply propose "undo" bills to reverse crappy stuff the Repugs rammed through congress during the bad old Bush years? I know Bush still has veto power, but we could force him to use it, weakening Repug votes in '08. In fact, we might even get a
veto-proof majority on a bill or two, with the backlash election fresh in Repug minds. (Continued.)
Anyway, I really don't know the law/rules/customs, etc, and would like to hear some more informed thoughts.
BTW, could someone suggest a good site source for congressional structure and mechanics. (US Gov "101".)
