With each passing day, it's becoming more increasingly clear that the Republican Party is more obsessed with keeping their stranglehold on power, rather than upholding the promises they made to the country in that ridiculous "Contract with America" that they fed to the public in 1994.
By no means is this a blanket endorsement for the Democratic party on my part. When I watched the footage of John Kerry botching a simple joke that even a dumbass like George Bush could make, it makes me question whether or not the Democratic party can actually close this deal and send the Republican party packing and forcing them to live in the squalor of corruption and hypocrisy that they've created.
Also, it's become increasingly obvious that this current crop of Democrats are afraid of their own shadow and hertiage.
In some races the Democratic party are trying to win by introducing candidates who would make great Republicans. Bob Casey, Harold Ford, JR., Heath Shuler, etc.
That bodes well in terms of victories in the house and senate, but it doesn't disqualify the belief that the Democratic party are selling out in order to win an election.
A man like Ned Lamont, a true grass roots candidate, would've sent a message to the Democratic party, by snatching the seat held by former Democrat, Joe Lieberman. The message would've been clear: The complete dismantling of the New Democrat Movement.
However, it appears that it won't be happening anytime soon.
Until then, the current power structure in Washington D.C., needs to be completely overhauled.
The Republican Party needs to go.
Their 12-year reign of incompetence, greed, apathy, and lust for power, coupled with their disregard for the United States Constitution, must meet a painful end.
Many Republican pundits and politicians have used the same old talking points memo of the Democrats not having a clear cut plan for victory in Iraq.
Question is, do the Republicans have one?
The answer is, no.
The Republicans rely on hope, faith and marketing strageties to steer a victory in a region with no hope in sight.
For starters, we should've not touched Iraq in the first place, but under the guidance of the neo-cons, George Bush recklessly took us into war and in 3 years have produced nothing, but disaster and over 2800 American soldiers dead.
The symbol for this Republican party is George Bush.
George Bush is a man who can't face up to his mistakes for fear of the absolute embarrasment he'll face.
And with that, the Republican party as whole, never has known up to their mistakes.
With Mark Foley, it was blame the Democrats and George Soros.
Never a blanket apology from the party of Personal responsiblity.
When their messiah Rush Limbaugh mocked and smear a crippled Michael J. Fox, the Republican party turned deaf and their acolytes like Sean Hannity and Mark Halperin grabbed the ball and rolled with it.
And, when the levees broke and thousands of New Orleans residents were either dead or wallowing in their own shit and piss, the Republican party offered nothing.
But, the most clear and decisive reason to vote the Republican party out of power, comes from the mouth of Vice President Dick Cheney who said this about the public sentiment against the war. "It doesn't matter what the public thinks."
Doesn't matter.
How dare you Mr. Vice President.
The public sentiment means a lot. Most of them voted for you and George Bush under the belief that your administration was the only choice to protect us from terrorism. And, you failed.
Your only success might be that your company Haliburton will be as rich as it could ever be. Thanks to the blood of American soldiers who died to make an honest man out of you and George Bush.
You don't care Mr. Cheney and neither does the Republican party. They're deaf, dumb, and blind to the situation in Iraq and on American soil.
They're desperate to protect their interests so they sent their rabid dogs to try and inoculate the public. To protect them from reality by sprinkling them with false fear and good news.
Oh and by the way Mr. Cheney it does matter. Because if the public doesn't buy your lies, on Novemeber 8th, Congress will look much different than what you normally use to seeing.
This constant thumbing of the nose to Americans should be a wake-up call.
We know there's no alternative to both parties. No one is out there that we know can truly claim they represent the best interests of the American people.
This election is about a party that is completely incompetent. A party with no plan.
The days of being seduced by fear-mongering, moral values leaders and shitty attack ads needs to be put to rest.
The country's health and reputation have been destroyed by this Republican-controlled Congress.
We need to go to the polls not just to elect a Democratic-controlled Congress, but to successfully eliminate the Republican party from power altogether.
On November 8th, the headlines should read as this: "Goodbye to the Republican Revolution. May you forever and ever rest in the flith that you've created."
