Pinellas County, Florida, home of GOP FL-Gov candidate Charlei Crist is at the western end of the vital I-4 corridor. This morning the Supervisor of Elections web site went down about 10 AM.
And that's not all...
Update: Website is now (12:20 PM) back up after about 2 1/2 hours.
Update 2: SOE link corrected.
Pinellas County is the western anchor of the I-4 corridor, the pivotal swing area of Florida between the heavily Goper north and the heavily Dem south. It is the swing county in the state. In 2000, Al Gore carried Pinellas by 10,000 votes. In 2004, George W carried Pinellas by 292 votes.
Charlie Crist is from St. Retersburg, a heavily Dem city of about 250,000 at the southern end of the Pinellas Peninsula. Jim Davis lives accross the bay in south Tampa. The Tampa Bay area is absolutely Ground Zero in Florida this cycle.
At about 10 AM this morning the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections website went down. The website is where voters can look up their precincts and the location of their polling place, which magicly change from location to location from one election to the next.
In Florida, Supervisors of Elections are elected in partisan races in each of Florida's 67 Counties. In both Pinellas and Hillsborough (Tampa) counties, the Supervisors are Republicans.
That's all I'm saying...
BTW, just got a report that Phyllis Busansky's telephones are down at her campaign HQ in Tampa. Phyllis is the Dem candidate in FL-09 running against Gus(is not for Us) Bilirakis, the Goper son of the retiring Congressman.
Stay tuned.
