ABC News ran an interesting story last night (Jan. 21) about a homeless shelter for veterans in New Hampshire that is in need of funds. I think it was called Liberty House. As ABC reported, John Kerry found out the shelter needed money, so he dropped by the shelter and made a personal donation of $10,000. As a result, the shelter director became a Kerry supporter. Then Wesley Clark found out about this, and made a donation of $1,200. The shelter director became a Clark supporter, and even signed a letter to the newspaper praising Clark. Not to be outdone, Kerry sent another check for $10,000, and the shelter director is once more a Kerry supporter. Never one to go down without a fight, Clark is auctioning off one of his argyle sweaters on eBay, with the proceeds to go to the shelter.
Does this strike anyone as improper?
