This is probably old news to everyone here, but it remains a source of wonder to me that nobody in the MSM is asking the obvious questions. For example, consider this New York Times article:
Bush Aides Seek Alternatives to Iraq Study Group’s Proposals, Calling Them Impractical
By JIM RUTENBERG and DAVID E. SANGER
Published: December 10, 2006
WASHINGTON, Dec. 9 — Administration officials say their preliminary review of the bipartisan Iraq Study Group’s recommendations has concluded that many of its key proposals are impractical or unrealistic, and a small group inside the National Security Council is now racing to come up with alternatives to the panel’s ideas.
Two simple questions for the come to mind:
- What is the Bush's current plan for acheiving his goal of a peaceful democracy in Iraq?
- Why did Bush wait until after losing the midterms and reading the Baker Report before considering alternative plans to achieve that goal?
Shouldn't someone ask these questions?
